Ufuq Finance is an independent Arabic-language publication about money and economics. We build calculators that run in your browser and write articles that explain concepts from the ground up — written in Arabic first, not translated into it.

We don't sell financial products, we don't refer anyone to a broker or a fund, and there's nothing to subscribe to. The tools and the writing are free.

Why there are no bylines

Everything here is published under a single editorial identity: Editorial Team. There are two reasons, and we'd rather state them than leave you guessing.

The first is that this work is entirely separate from the professional life of the person behind it, and that separation is worth keeping clean.

The second is that we don't think the signature at the bottom of a finance article is the thing worth scrutinising. What matters is whether you can check the work. So every calculator shows the formula it runs on, every assumption is stated, and every figure is traced to a primary source.

A name at the bottom of an article doesn't necessarily make what's in it right. The argument and the source do.

What the work draws on

What gets published here draws on training and professional experience in strategy, economics, engineering, and finance. We write within what we actually know, and when a topic runs past that line, we say so rather than bluff through it.

How we work

• We go back to primary sources, not to what's been said about them.
• Every calculator shows its formula and its assumptions.
• Every page carries the date it was last reviewed.
• When we find an error, we fix it and update the review date.
